Design and Planning: following the evaluation provided by the doctor after the analysis of the photos provided by you, there is an on-site inspection of recipient and the donor area, which will help to calculate the final number of grafts to be transplanted. The design of the hairline is done according to your instructions as well as your donor area´s health to achieve the results desired.
During the implant
Step 1: Preparation for the operation (approximately 1 hour):
– Photographs of the patient are taken.
– The hair is cut with a length of less than 1mm.
– The area and quantity of grafts needed by the doctor is selected.
– The donor area is anesthetised locally.
Step 2: Graft collection (approximately 3 hours):
– Follicular units are removed from the donor area.
– The extracted follicles are placed in a special solution which is at a temperature comprised between +4 or +10 degrees.
– The recipient area is anesthetised and the channels in which the hair follicles will be placed are opened. This process is done with the help of a slit specially designed for this type of surgery.
Step 3: Implantation of grafts (2 to 5 hours)
– Follicular units removed are inserted into previously opened channels.
– The donor area is wrapped with a bandage.
– Pain relievers are prescribed to reduce the discomfort and antibiotics to reduce the risk of infections.
After your hair transplant
24-48 hours after your hair transplant, we will bring you back to the hospital to proceed with the first head wash. This first wash is carried out in the hospital with the supervision of the medical team. In addition, the pertinent instructions will be given to the patient so that he can carry out the best possible care of the transplanted and donor area once he returns to his home country..
